**IMPORTANT**

---------------

Hey Team,

Rozie Amos, CFS Member of the Month, created an awesome WOD for us all. It looks fun. Hard, and fun.

Here's Rozie's MotM write up. Next week, in the CFCB newsletter, we name the CFCB Member of the Month. Perhaps it'll be you.

Member of the Month: Rozie Amos

Nickname: I think it might be “knees out!”  Although for real, I worked somewhere where the GM called me Susie or Katie for three years.  My boss kept telling him off but I liked it because if he ever got mad enough to go to HR I would have enough time to leave town before they figured out who was in trouble!

What were you doing before CFS?   I started Crossfit in November 2013 in Halifax and moved to Calgary at the end of last year for work.  When I got here I followed a powerlifting program at the university gym while I figured out how to get home from work and where the good grocery stores were with the goal to find and join a Crossfit gym before the Open.

How did you find CFS and what did you expect?  Google?  But actually the map on Crossfit.com.  I was looking for something near where I’d like to live and that is an okay commute from work and then looked at some past WODs on the website, dropped in for a class and was sold.  Eric was coaching that day and Janne and Carol chatted me up immediately and everyone seemed to be not just friendly, but friends.

What have you gotten out of CF at CFS (goals reached, accomplishments, etc)?  Besides making a whole bunch of friends, I’ve gotten some really satisfying PRs and firsts since starting at Sunalta including finishing Fran a hair under six minutes, a bar muscle-up and crossing the 300lb barrier on my deadlift.

What are you working on now/hoping to achieve in the coming months/year? Inside the gym I’d like to get some gymnasty skills and improve toes-to-bar, get bar muscle-ups comfy and learn how to do butterfly pull-ups.  Also bench press my bodyweight.

Outside the gym I want to do the usual summer stuff: patio burgers & beers, cool hikes, camping.  I hear that floating the river is a thing and that’s definitely on my Calgary to do list.

What do you like to do outside CFS?
I love to snowboard, which is a big part of why I moved to Calgary.  Since moving here, I started playing hockey and love how fast paced and fun it is.

I also really enjoy eating Nutella or peanut butter (OR BOTH) straight from the jar.  Natural or Adam’s peanut butter only, none of that shelf stable stuff that should probably be called “peanut spread.”

Favorite joke? Or quote?
Quote - “The worst thing I can be is the same as everybody else. I hate that.” – Arnold Schwarzenegger

Joke - What's brown and rhymes with Snoop? .... Dr Dre.

If you could be a Crossfit movement what would you be and why? This is actually the hardest question on here!  Probably the clean because it's my one of my faves.  It's a little tricky but when it's good it's great.

Anything else you would like to share about yourself?
- Once at my last job a coworker thought I was a vegetarian and that was basically the meanest thing anyone’s ever said about me.
- Although I moved here from Halifax I’m not from the east coast, I was born and raised in Victoria.  I went from mountains and ocean to only ocean in 2010 and figured why not give only mountains a try for a couple years and see how Calgary feels.  Six months in and I love it here!
